Leadership and Learning

"Beware the lollipop of mediocrity; lick it once and you'll suck forever." 🗣Brian Wilson

You are working 24 hours a day, whether you realize it or not. You may be working for your company from 9-5, but what are you doing with the rest of your day? You are working for yourself when you’re going to the gym or reading/studying a new book. We work our own personal businesses when we develop our skills or strengthen our network. We work on our family when we spend quality time together. This makes me wonder, who are we working for when we’re sitting on the couch in front of the TV? This question has me planning my days better. It has me keeping a journal of what I’m doing through the day. It has motivated me to be more productive with my days.

Today, I attended a Leadership Workshop developed by Dan Webster. One nugget of information I’d like to share from the event is this, “You cannot delegate to anyone the responsibility of your own development.” This coincides with the message above. You are responsible for your own development. Use those working hours spent in front of the TV on developing yourself or your business instead.
